Story: The plot and the story were great.
It was unique and I liked how it wasn't totally revolved around Holly getting a new guy. It was more about Gerry helping Holly move on with her life.
It showed that true love never dies and Gerry did love Holly very much! I just wish that there was a sequel to this book. I would like to know what happens to Holly afterwards.
Characters: There were so many characters in this book and each and every character contributed something to it. I must say, though Holly was a great character, she was not my favorite.
Actually I'm not sure I have a favorite character. But I really enjoyed and adored Holly's family.
I loved Ciara and her quirkiness, Richard and how he changed from annoying to likable, her Mom and how much she resembled me mom! Other than that I loved seeing Holly's transformation. At first I didn't really like Daniel, but then I started liking him and till I reached the end I just didn't care about him anymore. Holly's friends were also amazing! All in all the characters were well-built and each had it's own unique voice.
Negatives: There weren't many 'negatives' in the book.
P.S. I Love You
The only thing that kinda irritated me was that in the beginning the book moved slowly but by the time it reached the end everything was happening really quickly and it became fast-paced. I would have liked it if the pace of the book had been normal through out. Movie: I watched the movie long before reading the book and I didn't like it. My opinion still didn't change after reading the book.
(ebook) P.S. I Still Love You
It wasn't a good movie and it definitely didn't do the book justice. So if you want my advice, read the book but skip the movie.

You definitely see why this book way made into a movie though. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Hannah from Great book Have not seen the movie and only read the book. It was a good romance story.
Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by Sydney from Good read This is one of those instances where I saw the movie before I read the book and I'm glad that I did.
The book was a good read and I enjoyed it. Still a great book, great we got to know the insider's detail to each character and still a lovely story. Date published: Rated 2 out of 5 by Anna from VERY different from the movie To me, this book had a very different vibe compared to the movie - and in not a good way.
It's usually that the book is better than the movie but not in this case. Holly's character didn't resonate with me at all throughout the story, there was no real emotion portrayed.
I only read it in order to compare to the movie. I would not recommend Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Erica from Beautiful story If you liked the movie, you'll love the book even more. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Rebecca from I think I preferred the movie I am an avid believer in the phrase "the book was better" and maybe it's because I saw the movie first, but I think I like the movie better than the book.
There are a lot of big differences so they are almost two separate ideas. Still a great read, and a lot more back story for Holly. For me I think I almost appreciate how they changed the book to fit the big screen. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Mandy from DON'T see the movie The book has such charm and humour - it killed me to sit through the crap movie.
Movie was VERY disappointing. Loved how the movie was set in Ireland.
Ahearn has such a way with words and new, interesting ideas in storytelling. Every one of her books are worth it. A great romance. While the movie is "based" on the book, it doesn't follow it exactly. Read it still in manuscript and fell in love Summer on the Italian Lakes: Again I liked the movie more than the book.
I must say, though Holly was a great character, she was not my favorite. Rethinking the Science of Nutrition.
I didn't know a whole lot about the book before reading it, other than the basic premise. It showed that true love never dies and Gerry did love Holly very much!
